About Visual Asylum

Visual Asylum is a design firm located in the IDEA District of East Village downtown San Diego, owned by sister partners Amy Jo and MaeLin Levine. The studio's work focuses on brand identity and comprehensive environmental graphic design projects, primarily for schools, with a recent extension into interior design work for seniors. MaeLin and Amy are passionate design educators and active volunteers in the community. Amy is the Y Design conference chair on the board of directors of AIGA/San Diego, former president, vice president and education chair. MaeLin is the founder of the Urban Discovery Schools and serves as president of the board of trustees and is the chair for the San Diego/Tijuana World Design Capital 2024 bid committee and serves on the board of the Downtown San Diego Partnership.
