About the Event
How does a designer see the world? What do they notice just walking down the street?
In 1998, MiresBall told the story of ten San Diego neighborhoods in photos—a gift for attendees of a national design conference being held in San Diego. This free-form collection of signs, stores, and other street-level ephemera encouraged exploration of our city beyond the usual sun and surf you find in travel imagery.
Now, over 20 years later, we’re revisiting the concept to reflect a city that’s seen plenty of changes. But we’re also asking the SD Design Week community to expand the effort by contributing their own visual chronicle.
Help us celebrate San Diego by sharing the glories of your favorite neighborhood with the hashtag #10NeighborhoodsContinued.
It started with ten, but we can’t wait to see more of the place we think is special enough to call home.
