About the Talk

How might we harness human-centered design to radically reimagine our city’s future?

The story of the San Diego-Tijuana metropolitan region is one of transformation. As our region prepares for its next evolution across this coming decade, join us to help shape the City of San Diego’s Global Vision 2030 project -- a strategic plan commissioned from the International Affairs Board by the mayor’s office -- in this radically inclusive, all-day design intensive. No design experience necessary!

All registrants receive a pre-read designer’s toolkit via email to help ground you in the design process and the issues we will explore during our event.

CONVERGE
-
Hear from the city’s youth in a flipping-of-the-script panel discussion during which the ‘experts’ take a back seat. K-12 students from across the region will speak on their lived experiences about the issues that matter most to their communities. Live conversations are moderated with dedicated time for designers to ask questions to help narrow focus to key challenges informed by community members.
