Why did Neyenesch decide to get involved in San Diego Design Week?

We’ve been collaborating with the San Diego design community for many years now, and we felt it was important to support the community that had always supported us. We also loved the idea of sharing the impact that design has on lives with a broad audience, which is what SDDW has done.

Do you have a favorite project?

Actually, I have two!

We’ve been in the print world for a long time but 2020 was a year unlike any other. COVID-19 impacted our business and lives in profound ways. Our first reaction was to ensure Neyenesch Printers and keep our employees safe. After that we thought it was important to engage with our community. Luckily, we came across our friend Yomar Augusto and his Quarantine Posters. We collaborated with Yomar and Marc Hedges Creative to create the Love Your City Posters project. Through email and social media, we offered the poster to the San Diego community at no cost. We only asked that the recipient share what they love about San Diego on social media and if able, make an anonymous donation to the San Diego Food Bank.

Fast forward ten months and the pandemic is still affecting many people's lives. Neyenesch made it through the year with the support of our customers and our community and we wanted to say thank you. So, working with Marc Hedges Creative, we launched our Gratitude is Essential Campaign that consisted of five beautifully designed greeting cards and packaging. Again, through email and social media, we offered these cards to our community for free, simply encouraging people to share social media posts of gratitude and if possible, donations to the San Diego Food Bank or the I Am Essential Campaign.

Any tips for first-time clients?

Get us involved early! We’ve been in the print biz for a long time and our experience can help keep our clients from making costly mistakes. We can offer advice on money saving options and we’re happy to share our knowledge of printing.

Any parting thoughts for us?

Yes, our community is everything to us, and we are grateful for the support and loyalty we’ve received from the San Diego Creative community. We never take that for granted!
